ADCD 2013 from VOLTAGE Advertising + Design on Vimeo.

We were quite excited to pick up a few awards at the ADCD show two weeks ago. What we didn’t realize is that the extremely cool and well designed award itself would make our more mundane office protocol (which typically goes without notice or fanfare ) become events worthy of enthusiastic applause. Now all our meetings, mouse clicks, and water cooler discussions are not complete without a hearty round of claps from the crowd. Thank You Art Directors Club of Denver for the recognition and bringing our creative community together for such a fine event. Oh yeah – and Thank You for the coolest light up “Applause” Sign ever!

Hanwag Site Launch from VOLTAGE Advertising + Design on Vimeo.

These German boots are made for walking – and now they will be walking all over the U.S. VOLTAGE had the pleasure of working with HanWag to launch and the US ecommerce website. Hanwag has been making superior hiking boots and footwear in Bavaria for more than 90 years. Coming from a family of shoemakers, many of these boots are still crafted in Vierkirchen, and many models are still built by hand. We especially love these double-stitched beauties.double-stitched-boot-hanwag

The website features rich content, highlighting the brands history, boot making process, and unique features with soles, and meticulous craftmanship. Check out the site, and when you need rugged, extremely well-made footwear to conquer the great outdoors, Hanwag’s the brand – is where you can buy them!

In October 2012, Hurricane Sandy struck portions of the Caribbean, mid-Atlantic, and northeastern United States with a vengeance. Sandy was the largest Atlantic “superstorm” on record and is currently ranked as the second costliest Atlantic hurricane, surpassed only by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

In response, the Society of Typographic Aficionados organized Font Aid VI: Aster Affects — a project uniting the typographic and design communities to raise funds for Red Cross relief efforts after the events of Hurricane Sandy. The project theme was represented in a typeface consisting entirely of asterisks and other star-inspired symbols.

Over 250 designers from 41 countries contributed glyphs to the project. We got submit a Lightning bolt asterisk as you will see highlighted in RED. Hope it raises some funds for disaster relief.
