Eric Fowles the founder and Current Creative Director of VOLTAGE is Sleeping Out tonight to support homeless youth in Boulder County. He’s pledged to raise $3,000 for Attention Homes – a Boulder Teen Homeless Shelter and if he reaches his goal he will not only sleep out – but FREEZE out using no sleeping bag – only the cardboard box provided. Let’s make him FREEZE out by donating today at this link.
Here’s a video about last years event, and some more information on who your supporting and helping by donating to this cause.
On November 14, 2013 Attention Homes is joining with more than 60 community and business leaders to raise awareness of and build support for youth who are homeless. Sleep Out participants will be spending the night sleeping outside on the lawn between Attention Homes’ administrative office and theFirst United Methodist Church of Boulder, near 15th& Spruce in downtown Boulder.
By taking part in this event, participants will glimpse what life is like as a homeless youth by exposing themselves to weather elements and uncertainties that come from living on the streets. Unlike Attention Homes’ youth clients, however, event participants have the benefit of knowing the next morning they can return to safe and warm homes, their jobs and their families.
Participants are asked to each pledge to raise $1,000 from friends, family and colleagues through their own online fundraising page to support Attention Homes’ homeless and runaway youth services. The Sleep Out is expected to raise more than $60,000 for Attention Homes’ programming.
