VOLTAGE Spends a Day Giving Back to the Community
This past Friday VOLTAGE paired up with the Community Food Share for a day.
Here at VOLTAGE, hard work is at our core whether designing a website or conquering a mountain.
It’s what we do in Colorado. In some regions you might not guess a copywriter could double as an elite cyclist or a designer as a triathlete, but here in Voltage’s Louisville, Colo. headquarters its no surprise.
Copywriter Heather Mierzejewski competed in the Valmont Bike Park cyclocross race in Boulder, Colo. last month, just a stone’s throw away. Cyclocross is a combination of dirt terrain cycling, and sprinting up stairs or over barriers while carrying your bike. Heather races for Stages Cycling’s local women’s team. Heather explained that she comes to cyclocross races with a very strategic plan in mind.
“Pretty much start as hard as you can, tweak your effort to just below the I-think-my-eyes-are-bleeding level, then continue like that to the finish about 40 minutes later.” With her surefire technique it was no surprise when Heather earned a third place podium spot.
Our design intern Avery Johnson fits right in with the Voltage athletes as she completed her third Olympic-distance triathlon this summer, the Lake to Lake triathlon. Stationed in Loveland, Colo., the race has been running for 15 years. The three-part course involves a one mile swim in Lake Loveland, a 30 mile bike to Ft. Collins around the steep rolling hills of Horsetooth Reservoir, and if your legs are still functioning, a six mile run to the finish line.
“Some people call it crazy,” Avery says. “I just smile and say ‘thanks!’ I take it as a compliment that others think what I do is insane.” Avery finished the race and claimed a second place medal for her age group.
VOLTAGE is proud of our athletes. Their hard work makes them valuable, goal-achieving team members in and out of the office. Keep watching the blog to see more spotlights of our talented team.

When you walk down the streets of Boulder, you see so many different faces. People from many different walks of life.
